Hello dear classmates! This is the report of my second
teaching practicum class. As the last class I arrived to the classroom some
minutes before the class in order to organize everything. I started the class just in time and all the
students were there. I started with a greeting and as a warm up I planned a
chant because the class topic was “indirect questions talking about childhood”
I was a little bit nervous because in the previous class the warm up did not
work in a right way. So I read the chant and I encourage the student to sing
the chant three times after that I asked them to stand up and do some movements
with the hands at the moment to sing the chant. At this moment I was really
excited because everybody was enjoying the warm up. After that I passed to the
free practice and it was some question about the childhood. They worked in
pairs and discussed the questions that they chose. Examples: Who was your
favorite teacher at school? Did you have your own bedroom? What was your
favorite place in your neighborhood? And so on. I gave them 5 minutes to
discuss the question with a classmate and after that everybody share the
information that they interchange with the whole group. The activity was really
nice because everybody participated. Finally I developed the wrap up of the
unit and It was some role plays. Students did it in the best way and in my
opinion everybody enjoy the role plays some of the situations were: 1- your
friend broke up a relationship. 2- A couple talking with a travel agency, etc.
I really enjoyed the class because the environment was really nice everybody
participated, sang, shared information, and had fun with the role plays. The feedback
of this class was exactly that; the teacher told me that he saw that I had good
rapport with the students and the class had a friendly environment. So this was
my second class. See you next week.

MY FIRST TEACHING PRACTICUM CLASS
Hello people! I had my first class of teaching
practicum ll. I am teaching in Advanced English l in the afternoon shift, and I
have around 14 students. I arrived to the classroom (B24) some minutes before to
start the class in order to prepare the environment, I arranged the desk in a
semi-circle, and I wrote the date and the agenda on the board, and I stuck
some papers on the desk to students write their names. I started the class with
a greeting and introducing me myself and asking the names of each student. The
first activity was the warm up and in my opinion it did not work in the way
that I planned it, so I resolved the activity on the board in order everyone
could see the answers. After that, I did a review of the grammar notes and the
topic was “Tag Questions”. I used a chart to do the review and the students
passed to the board to write the main points about tag questions. After the
review we did the controlled practiced. I had 15 sentences written in a chart without
the tag questions. The students wrote the sentences and the tag questions, we
checked the answers with the whole group. Finally I gave a piece of paper with
sentences to each student and one by one were reading the sentences and adding
the tag question and it was my first class. The feedback that I received was why
the warm up did not work in the way that I planned it? The teacher told me that
it was because I did not give them enough time to resolve the puzzle. He
corrected me some grammar mistakes and that’s it. I appreciate if you give some
pieces of advices in order to manage the time. Thank you to read my post. See you
next week.
